Manage all financial-accounting functions including production of periodic financial reports, develop and monitor business performance metrics, maintain an adequate system of accounting records, employ a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, provide accurate and timely reports on the company’s financial results, cash management, and ensure that reported results comply for a growing company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•The Controller is responsible for applying principles of accounting to organize and analyze financial information, prepare financial reports, develop budgets and to ensure that the required accounting control procedures are in-place and effective
•Direct and oversee all general accounting and control activities, including accounts payable, payroll, G/L accounting, month-end close, cost and inventory accounting
•Develop and implement annual and strategic financial plans
•Maintain accounting policies and procedures to safeguard assets, achieve objectives, and ensure the integrity of financial data
•Work with the owners to guide the development and management of budgets, monitoring performance against budget and forecasts and managing cash flow
•Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings and year-end closings
•Provide strategic support and analysis to our Directors, and GMs at all locations
•Provide management/owners with information vital to the decision-making process
•Develop internal audit routines, assess current accounting operations, and offer recommendations for improvement and implement new processes.
•Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database as needed.
•This position interfaces with financial institutions and manages all IT functions
•Document, implement and monitor best in class operating procedures and controls
•Ensure accurate and timely reporting of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial data to the CFO, and Executive Management
•Report monthly results against budget/forecast, including detailed variance analysis
•Create and manage the appropriate P&L and business views and reports that match the needs of the business through cost accounting and/or allocations and produce management reporting
•Ensure appropriate levels of confidentiality within the organization and exhibit the highest degree of personal and professional integrity
•Keep abreast of emerging accounting and finance trends
•Set goals, objectives and priorities
•Interface with other departments on special projects, as needed
|•Excellent understanding of operational cost control, vendor management and quality assurance
•Must be a strong team player with an ability to build positive and effective working relationships with others
•Experience in the development and implementation of programs to drive out cost inefficiencies

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/ Business; 5-7 years of Accounting/Finance experience, MBA a plus; Multi-unit QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) experience preferred (not required); CPA and public accounting and/or public company experience preferred
