Position Description

Under the direct supervision of the Fitness Plus Assistant Manager or Coordinator, the Fitness Attendant is responsible for exercise floor coverage, equipment cleanliness/preventative maintenance, policy enforcement, and delivering excellent customer service at all times. Additionally, the Fitness Attendant will assist in implementation of recreation programs. Recreation programs will include but not be limited to birthday parties, youth programs, activity camps, sports leagues, and other recreation events.

Fitness Floor - Makes regular rounds of the exercise floor, including gymnasium and pool area in an effort to assist members and guests with exercise related issues or questions they may have.

Recreation Programs - Facilitates recreation programs and activities. Remains knowledgeable of all Fitness Plus activities and programs and encourages members to participate in upcoming programs.

Maintenance and Cleaning - Follows the equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance checklist. Cleans equipment daily. Provides proper notification to facility management when equipment is found to be malfunctioning.

Assistance - Is willing to work in a variety of capacities to provide services to members and guests. Works varied hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Position Requirements

Educational Requirements:
High School diploma preferred. College hours in fitness, physical education, recreation or sport management related curriculum preferred.

Certification/License Title:
CPR Certification within 90 days of employment.

Additional Skills & Experience Requirements:
Experience preferred in fitness and/or recreational programming and basic computer skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills required. Ability to work variable hours required. Possess a professional attitude and appearance. Must be capable of maintaining positive ongoing communications.
