Position Description

Nash UNC Health Care is looking for talented individuals to join our Emergency Department (ED) as a Clinical Nurse IV (Nurse Supervisor)!  The Clinical Nurse IV will have the following experience and qualities:

This position will report to the Unit Nursing Manager. The Clinical Nurse IV will demonstrate expertise in caring for patients with multiple and complex problems. In addition to demonstrating clinical leadership on the unit, the Clinical Nurse IV will serve as a role model, resource, and hospital-wide consultant to staff and participates in endeavors to increase nursing knowledge. The Clinical Nurse IV will provide professional nursing care to patients assigned to a specific Nursing Unit.  In addition, he/she will provide patient care within the parameters of this assignment of responsibility, according to prescribed, delegated medical regimen, and the hospital policies. Incumbents are accountable to the North Carolina Board of Nursing for practicing nursing within the scope of the North Carolina Nursing Practice Act.





Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and be a graduate of an approved nursing program with a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.  Eligible candidates have at least 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.  The ideal candidate will have BCLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI and NIHSS certifications, and the candidate will receive specialty certification.  The certification must be obtained within 90-days of hire.   

This position does require less than 25% of travel for EMR training.

Prefer previous experience in an Emergency or Critical Care setting.

Salary Range: $31.09 - $51.82 per hour


Shift Differentials:

  • 3p-11p - $ 2.50 per hour
  • 11p-7a - $4.50 per hour
  • Weekend shift differential - $10.00/per hour (Friday 7p - Monday 7a)
