Position Description

The Children’s Center of Wayne County leads the way in providing an integrated approach to community mental health that treats the whole child and the whole family.

 

Together with our community partners, we offer meaningful solutions that address mental, physical and behavioral health, abuse and neglect, and poverty challenges currently faced by over 100,000 children in the Greater Detroit area.

 

The Children’s Center of Wayne County is seeking a Coordinator in our Human Resources Department.

 

This is a supervisor position, very hands on, and will be responsible for overseeing the day to day functions of the HR Team as well as:

  • Responsible for all leave management, including FMLA, LOA, STD, LTD, Workers Comp, etc…
  • Be the key contact for employee management inquiries including support in employee relations issues
  • Management and development of the HR team and other support staff as needed to encourage professional growth
  • Oversee the workforce management cycle, including position requisition, recruitment, screening/interviewing, selection, offering and onboarding.
  • Assist the HR Manager in streamlining all HR processes  
Position Requirements

To qualify for this position you will need:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or any combination of skills or experience in the field or in a related area.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP a plus
  • Strong knowledge of leave administration
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resources
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory role
