We are looking for an experienced transportation consultant to join our Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for a transportation expert who has a variety of transportation experience and is looking to work on more challenging projects with national leaders in the transportation industry.

The Project Manager will manage and provide support to a variety of consulting assignments that may include transit corridor and system analyses, long range planning, active transportation planning, performance management, land use, economics, finance, environmental assessment, and other related technical areas. Responsibilities include the development and implementation of project work plans from inception of approach through completion of final reports and presentations; management of project staff and budgets; quantitative and qualitative analysis; and participation in business development activities including advance marketing, proposal writing, and interviews. S/he possesses an advanced knowledge in one or more technical areas, understands the Southern California market, independently develops innovative analysis techniques. S/he will contribute to business development and project management activities as assigned.

The successful candidate must have strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, analytical, and computer skills; the ability to manage a project on time, on budget and to client satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to communicate recommendations persuasively,and can conduct focused business development efforts.

Transportation Planning and Management is responsible for providing strategic planning, policy analysis, and management advice. We are known for our ability to develop innovative, realistic solutions to our client’s complex, multimodal transportation issues in the present and future. We develop and apply objective analytical methods to help our clients assess and select the most effective approaches to a range of challenges including asset management, system performance improvement, project prioritization, safety enhancement, economic development and environmental protection. Through long-term partnerships with our clients such as the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), state departments of transportation (DOT), metropolitan planning organizations (MPO), and transit agencies we have influenced the development of effective transportation plans and policies and helped design and implement effective management solutions throughout the United States and around the world.

Position Requirements

Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred
10+ years of experience in transportation planning or analysis
Proven Project Management and business development skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills
