Position Summary

As an Analyst on the Payments team, you will be highly involved in reviewing and processing payments within AIMCo. You will be directly working to support and enhance internal controls, ensure existing controls are being adhered to and following best practices.

You will gain experience in managing the daily cash sweep, administering custodial, prime brokerage and banking portal access within AIMCo, and managing the setup of SDI’s (settlement information) in AIMCo systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Initiating new portfolio’s within AIMCo’s internal systems
  • Analyzing and organizing the maintenance, validation and creation of SDI’s settlement information) in Calypso, SCD, GTSS, Omgeo Alert and any future systems
  • Booking of cash transfers in SCD related to cash sweep and Premier Account bookings
  • Reviewing and monitoring AIMCo’s access to custodial, prime brokerage and banking portals
  • Communicating internally and externally by claiming coupons on fixed income instruments out on collateral, from third parties, and dealing with bank overdraft issues
  • Improving wire instructions generator through VBA, Power BI and other tools
  • Ensuring controls are effective and are being followed. Assisting with any improvements on such controls
  • Maintaining and set up of bank accounts (account opening, closing, new market set ups)
  • Researching, investigating and communicating overdraft/negative interest bookings externally and internally
  • One-year success will be measured by the candidate’s ability to contribute to the enhanced controls and efficiencies of AIMCo’s payment process.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business or a related field such as Economics or Mathematics
  • 2+ years’ experience in a related field such as banking or accounting
  • Pursuit of the CFA designation is an asset
  • Extraordinary attention to detail
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of VBA, Python or PowerBI 
  • Motivated to meet deadlines and contribute to team success
