Position Summary

AIMCo’s Business Technology Operations team is responsible for the execution of large-scale projects that support the growing needs of the organization. The Business Technology team partners with various areas of the firm to provide strategic solutions for a wide range of AIMCo’s functions such as public and private investments, investment finance and corporate operations.

The Business Technology team includes a solutions orientated group of Business Analysts, Project Managers, Business System Analysts, Developers and Quality Assurance Analysts who are involved in several large application development projects. Some of the current tasks of the team include the implementation of new financial products and portfolio management strategies, large scale data onboarding, processing, systems replacements and upgrades.

As a Quality Assurance Analyst within the Business Technology team, together with key stakeholders you will work to understand and support business requirements, create and develop key test cases and scenarios, conduct actual test execution and contribute to defect triaging. Other accountabilities will include:

  • Facilitating the successful completion of project deliverables though collaboration relationships with the Business Technology management team, Project Manager and Business Stakeholders
  • Creating document quality assurance practices and templates
  • Developing test plans, test cases, executing test cases and documenting results
  • Logging and tracking defects during testing phases and working towards resolution
  • Preparing testing status reports and broadcasts to the project team
  • Serving as a business resource and support for specified project teams and participate in design and technical reviews
  • Facilitating the financial application change management process
  • Participating in post implementation reviews

Year Once Success will be achieved by demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of AIMCo’s core systems and understanding how they are used to attain the organization’s business objectives.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Possesses a diploma or a degree in computer science or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of related work experience in the investment or banking industry
  • Above average proficiency with Microsoft Excel and programming knowledge in VBA and SQL
  • Demonstrates a high level of comfort when  working with large data sets
  • Enjoys taking the lead and solving challenging problems
  • Strong quantitative analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines while paying attention to details
  • Thrives under pressure in a fast-paced working environment

This role is a 12 month fixed-term opportunity with the possibility of extension for an additional 6 months.
