If this sounds like you, the Business Systems Analyst Training program might be for you!

Highly successful Business System Analysts share many of the same characteristics. They are self-starting, intellectually curious, results focused with exceptional data, programming, finance and communications skills. They are relationship builders and able to interact with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders. They support one another through challenges and enthusiastically celebrate team accomplishments. Business System Analysts often are champions of continuous improvement and believe the best course of action is identified through rigorous debate and discussion. They also tend to see a problem as a challenge and look forward to being the one to solve it. Motivated self-starters can easily succeed as a Business System Analyst.

Applicants to the program are being sought at all experience levels including junior, intermediate and senior. The program will include a mix of both external vendor training, enhancement initiatives and on the job training. You will receive support and coaching from team members who joined AIMCo through this training program.

The Business Systems Analyst Training Program - Delivery Team is ideal for candidates with software development, programming, finance or accounting experience. In this full-time position, participants will gain exposure to the trade lifecycle, best-of-breed investment systems, process workflow and business analysis processes. Scheduled over 24 months, the successful candidates will receive mentorship and onsite support and job shadowing opportunities. Combined with in-depth classroom training and access to eLearning modules created by internal and external experts, the Business Systems Analyst will be provided the tools they need to be successful. The Delivery team builds innovative solutions, within an off-the-shelf platform, related to financial product setup, integration with an enterprise service bus, reconciliations and more. You will work within an Agile framework to deliver business features.

Responsibilities:
• Providing comprehensive analytic and application support to the organization
• Monitoring and maintaining data feeds and integrations between systems
• Designing, configuring, integrating and maintaining applications and interfaces using various programming languages and tools
• Identifying and communicating potential risks and possible solutions to ad hoc problems and ongoing projects
• Supporting the transformation of the Business Technology team to an Agile environment


Six Months Success will be achieved by demonstrating a basic understanding of SimCorp and your ability to implement simple changes related to AIMCo’s investment products, settlement and Swift payment processes.

24 Months Success will be achieved by establishing a deep knowledge of SimCorp and your ability to design, develop and test solutions within the applications.

Our Ideal Candidate
• Possesses a diploma or degree in computer science, finance, accounting or a related field
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Mircrosoft.Net) and Database programs ( SQL)
• Brings a working knowledge of PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, Perl or Ruby
• Has familiarity with Power BI or would be excited to learn this application
• Holds a basic understanding of project management principles
• Possesses an understanding of, or a willingness to learn investment accounting rules and guidelines such as Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants handbook (GAAP), Public Sector Accounting Board (PASB), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the Financial Administration Act
• Enrollment in the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program would be helpful
• Embraces a variety of opinions, comfortable with professional debate and dialogue to generate best solutions
• Exhibits a positive attitude, especially when solving complex problems
• Adept at managing multiple, concurrent deadlines and shifting priorities
• Demonstrates a high degree of accountability and encourage others to do the same
• Thrives under pressure and takes a proactive approach to problem solving
