Position Summary

As a senior member of the Data Governance team, you will provide guidance and support in the development and implementation of data quality processes, metrics and standards.  The successful Senior Data Quality Analyst will lead initiatives and manage data quality assurance activities which may include process reviews, management of business and technical metadata, periodic data quality profiling and issues relating to data quality.

Success in this role will be based on your ability to engage stakeholders, facilitate communication and information gathering between the business and the functional areas.  Leveraging a high degree of influence and customer service orientation, you will assist data owners and the cross-functional teams apply and manage Data Governance processes into operations.  The Senior Data Quality Analyst will also champion transparency and consistency of data across the organization through training and strong collaboration to maintain a high degree of trust.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Finance or a related discipline. An MBA or other master’s degree would be considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in the data management/data governance field. 
  • Must be independently motivated; take ownership of tasks and drive to completion.
  • Demonstrated abilities in the development and execution of data governance best practices, standards, processes.  Operationalize and coordinate training and communication.
  • Knowledge of business process analysis and modelling including research to understand data sources, identify gaps and ability to challenge current state.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis and solution documentation. Ability to synthesize and distill information from multiple sources.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, Microsoft Office suite.  Data catalogues, Database modelling, Database architecture, and operations experience is an asset. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to present ideas to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Finely tuned interpersonal skills and ability to develop and foster collaborative working relationships with colleagues.
