With a goal of achieving trusted advisor status in all interactions, the Director, Client Relations is the face of AIMCo to a number of AIMCo's external clients. Working with others in the Client Relations Department, the successful candidate will implement a comprehensive communication strategy sharing AIMCo's message through presentations, meetings, and client education events. Every single day the Director, Client Relations will play a lead role in the advancement of the AIMCo's client strategy while promoting AIMCo's culture and value to its clients.


The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to setting the strategic direction of Client Relations
  • Establish deep relationships with his/her clients resulting in an enhanced client relations experience
  • Leverage their curiosity, creativity and robust business acumen to provide valuable solutions  for his/her clients proactively addressing their needs
  • Lead responses to client and client consultant inquiries by working with the analysts of the client relations team
  • Collaborate across all appropriate areas of AIMCo to deliver all quarterly client investment reviews
  • Guide the investment decision process by sharing details of AIMCo's capabilities and communicating relevant feedback on client's specific needs to the organization
  • Analyse client investment policy processes and oversee their implementation.


Year One Success will be achieved by creating and executing on a Client Relations strategy, including developing deep relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 


Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, finance, actuarial sciences, or other related field 
  • MBA and/or CFA designation would be advantageous 
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, with a broad knowledge of financial markets across all asset classes, including public and private, and traditional and non-traditional investments
  • Demonstrated experience building strategic plans and translating those plans to tactical actions
  • Knowledge of Pension & Endowment Finance would be an asset
  • Highly consultative and able to build and develop strong relationships
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a high degree of influence
