Position Summary

The Data Quality Analyst participates in the development, implementation and facilitation of data quality processes, data quality metrics and data quality controls. The Data Quality Analyst performs data quality assurance activities as directed by the Senior Manager, which include process and procedure reviews, periodic data quality profiling and management of data incident analysis relating to data quality issues.

The Data Quality Analyst is responsible to support data governance operations in assuring the development and maintenance of metadata. The resource is accountable to advise projects on the design and execution of data quality initiatives and other data performance measures following data quality programs, guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supports data quality initiatives for the purpose of improving, purging and eliminating corrupt, missing or redundant information from enterprise systems.
  • Assists in development and implementation of data quality standards
  • Creates methods for monitoring and reporting data incidents to support data quality within the organization
  • Develops metrics, scorecards and drive key data quality measures across the organization
  • Maintains common data definitions and support all initiatives related to data dictionary, metadata and catalogue
  • Engage in corporate projects to support quality standards and alignment
  • Develops data quality assessment and cleansing specifications in support of assigned duties.
  • Performs root cause analysis of data issues involving detail-oriented, analytical problem solving and research skills
  • Identify and document business workflows, processes, as well as system, data, and process impacts based on stakeholder requirements
  • Identifies areas for data quality improvement and helps to resolve data quality problems. Provide analytical and technical support in providing comprehensive data management functions and data quality assurance activities. Identify areas for data quality improvements and initiate immediate actions.
  • Coordinate the gathering, documentation and implementation of data user requirements covering various tasks including but not limited to investment data capture, transformation and reporting
  • Fully aligned to team vision and objectives
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Applicable university degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Demonstrated abilities in facilitation, collaboration, and in-depth business and process analysis
  • Experience analyzing and resolving data issues and an in-depth understanding of data and technology trends within asset management is highly desirable
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills. Ability to synthesize and distill information from multiple sources, able to identify patterns, inconsistencies
  • Knowledge of database modeling, SQL, Python, Security Master, Microsoft Office suite, MDM
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to present ideas to stakeholders
  • Excellent customer and service orientation
  • Training and experience in business analysis and process modelling
  • A good working knowledge of data quality measurements, total quality management, data entry improvement
  • Database architecture, design, implementation, and operations experience
  • Strong organizational skills, acute attention to detail with experience analyzing and resolving data quality issues
  • Capability to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of given datasets or metrics
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain strong working relationships with colleagues
  • Possess an intellectual curiosity about how processes, people and technology work
