Position Summary

The Student, Information Security & Governance will gain an understanding of security operation center monitoring and processes over their summer at AIMCo. Under the guidance of AIMCo’s Network and Security analysts, the student will develop experience with network and security products, scripting, learn about attack vectors, develop training materials for security awareness month, and work to improve current reporting processes. During the summer, the student’s regular tasks will include daily operations, and investigating network and security alerts.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Enrolled in a computer science or technology related program at an accredit post-secondary institution
  • Must have a demonstrated interest in Cyber Security
  • Understanding of basic scripting
  • Strong organization and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with Windows Server operating system
  • Understanding of Network Fundamentals
  • Cyber Security fundamentals
  • Knowledge in Poweshell is an asset
  • Basic understanding of incident handling and response processes is an asset
  • Knowledge concerning firewalls would also be considered an asset
