Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Director, Client Relations, the position is part of the Client Relations department.

This position is responsible for supporting Director, Client Relations in providing Asset-Liability Management/ Strategic Asset Allocation Consulting Services to Clients. This position will work closely with Client Risk Management and the CIO’s Office to develop models and analytics to create meaningful strategic reporting and advice to AIMCo’s clients to 
support them in making strategic decisions  to meet their long term objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Director, Client Relations to develop & maintain client consulting services processes and procedures;
  • Develop & maintain documentation for Asset Liability Models and Consulting Services;
  • Assisting in the design, implementation and production of client reporting related to long term strategy;
  • Collaboratively develop & review asset-liability models and assumptions to form the basis of client consulting services;
  • Under the guidance of the Director, Client Relations produce analysis for client reports and client consulting services;
  • Actively participate and contribute to Client Consulting interactions;
  • Engage in other Asset-Liability projects or analysis;
  • Contributes to overall organizational awareness of unique needs of pension clients;
  • Research trends in Asset-Liability modelling, liability driven investing and pension investing trends.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an investment management or actuarial role
  • Understanding of pension liabilities, actuarial concepts, modeling, and liability driven investing. Progress towards an actuarial designation would be considered an asset;
  • Understanding of long term risks, both investment and non-investment, faced by pension, endowments and other institutional Clients;
  • Experienced in modelling and analysis;
  • Understanding of financial mathematics and statistics
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • A relevant professional designation (e.g. CFA, FRM) would be considered an asset;
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and VBA would be required.
