Position Summary


The Public Equity team is seeking a Student to complement the existing team by assisting in day to day activities and projects as well as providing general support to the team throughout the summer months.   


As the Pubic Equities Student you will:


  • Meet and manage relationships with a variety of asset management firms
  • Partake in ad-hoc projects assigned by sub-groups within Public Equities pertaining to quantitative investments, fundamental research, external funds, index and overlays, or trading
  • Manage cash flows from hedge funds and assist in transaction forecasting
  • Monitor the performance and fees for externally managed funds
  • Assist with quarterly reporting to clients
  • Maintain database archives
  • Utilize programs like Barra, Bloomberg and Style Research
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 2nd or 3rd year in Commerce, Business, Finance, or other related fields
  • Proven record of outstanding academic achievement and performance
  • Must possess excellent time management and organization skills
  • Excellent knowledge of finance, accounting, and economic concepts
  • Enthusiastic about following financial markets
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Team player with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, and an ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Exposure to Portfolio Management Theory and Portfolio Attribution (Brinson Attribution)
  • Exposure and some ability with programming languages
  • Basic understanding of database querying (Access/SQL)
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Applications (specifically Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Interest in pursuing the CFA designation
  • Case competition experience is an asset
