Position Summary

The Junior Application Developer is an integral member of the Application Development team and is responsible for developing, configuring and supporting a large portfolio of applications including AIMCo’s shared services. Other responsibilities include:

  • Implementation of well-defined business functionalities through development and integration based on service-orientated architecture (SOA) design patterns.
  • Providing technical input as required to other members of the development team.
  • Utilizing Agile, Scrum, Kanban and RUP development methodologies to assist with application lifecycle management (ALM)
  • Investigating and debugging software issues and communicating with key stakeholders in order to develop and provide appropriate solutions
  • Utilization of continuous integration in order to automate application builds, manage version control, adhere to deployment schedules and optimize testing and notification procedures
  • Provide technical, analytical and consultative services for TIBCO technology related integrations, special projects and initiatives.

This role is a 1 year fixed-term opportunity.

  • Proficiency in technologies including Java, C#, .Net, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery, XPATH, XML, J2EE
  • Proficiency in development tools including Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, SQL Management Studio
  • Experience/Knowledge in Writing and Modifying Stored Procedure, Views, Triggers and Functions etc.
  • Experience conducting message-oriented middleware design and implementations
  • Experience with Object-Oriented design patterns
  • Experience or knowledge of SOAP or REST services is an asset
  • Experience with the TIBCO Technology Suite (including Active Matrix, Business Works, EMS, Administrator, Business Studio, SpotFire and BPM) is an asset
  • Experience with any Enterprise Services Bus software (ESB) is an asset
  • Education or Certification in financial industry would be an asset
