Position Summary

The Data Quality Analyst participates in the development, implementation and facilitation of data quality processes, metrics and controls. In this role, the Analyst performs data quality assurance activities as directed by the Senior Manager which includes policy and procedure reviews, periodic data quality profiling, and special projects relating to data quality issues.

The Data Quality Analyst is responsible for supporting data governance operations in through the development and maintenance of metadata. The Analyst is accountable to advise projects on the design and execution of data quality initiatives and other data performance measures. 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting data-cleansing initiatives for the purpose of improving, purging and eliminating corrupt, missing or redundant information from enterprise systems.
  • Assisting in development and implementation of data quality standards.
  • Creating methods for monitoring and reporting data incidents to support data quality within the organization
  • Developing metrics, scorecards and drive key data quality measures across the organization
  • Maintaining common data definitions and support all initiatives related to data dictionary, metadata and catalogue
  • Engaging in corporate projects to support quality standards and policies
  • Executing Data Strategy and presenting ideas to stakeholders
  • Promoting data accessibility throughout the organization. 
  • Developing data quality assessment and cleansing specifications in support of assigned duties.
  • Performing root cause analysis of data issues using data quality tools and manual investigation.
  • Identifying areas for data quality improvement and collaborating to resolve data quality problems.
  • Assisting technology and architecture teams in implementing data quality processes.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Must have an applicable University degree and/or relevant professional designation.
  • Has excellent technical and analytical skills.
  • Is knowledgeable of Database Modeling, SQL, Python, Security Master, Microsoft Office suite, and MDM.
  • Has an excellent understanding of data life cycle. Familiarity with investment products/ data is an asset.
  • Possesses a good working knowledge of data quality measurements, total quality management, data entry improvement.
  • Understands database architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Is detail oriented and has the ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Is able to synthesize and distill information from multiple sources, able to identify patterns, and discover inconsistencies.
  • Has the capability to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of given datasets or metrics.
  • Possesses an intellectual curiosity about how processes, people and technology work.
