Position Summary

AIMCo's Information Technology team is seeking a student to assist with daily operations. The student will receive hands-on experience of a typical day in IT. The student will develop and strong problem solving skills and improve their soft skills by interacting with internal clients. The student will have the opportunity to grow their analytical, organizational, and communication skills over the summer.


The incumbent will be responsible for:


  • Assisting with IT Services day-to-day operations which involves dealing with hands-on Information Technology problems
  • Assisting with imaging computers for new employees joining AIMCo
  • IT asset tracking and inventory management
  • Installing, configuring and upgrading operating systems and software
  • Working with other Business Technology groups during knowledge transfer sessions to help position Business Technology to more effectively deal with the requirements of the business
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Completion of second or third year of undergraduate studies in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer System Technologies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Operating System (Windows 7,10)
  • Strong organization and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • An understanding of ITIL is desirable but not required
  • Exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Interest in investment operations is an asset
  • Ability to lift 20 Kg and move IT hardware safely
  • Involvement in student organizations/clubs
