Position Summary

The Analyst, Cash Management is part of a team that manages AIMCo’s cash forecasting, liquidity, cash management, banking, and payments. The technical nature of the role focuses on the analysis of complex, firm-wide treasury metrics and the development of liquidity risk measures and models. The incumbent will also be required to develop new Treasury functionality and assist with projects which will require an in-depth knowledge of financial instruments and investment related subjects.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the operational responsibilities of the Treasury department are addressed completely, accurately and on a timely basis including:
    • Daily cash forecasts to allow the money market trading desk to make short-term investment trades
    • Reporting on periodic cash positions for use by internal users and senior managers
    • Monthly liquidity reporting to assist with risk management and to provide senior management with an understanding of AIMCo’s liquidity position
  • Development of alternative strategies for managing liquidity; the focus will include creating analytics to measure and monitor liquidity risks, input to the establishment of policies and guidelines and reporting and monitoring results
  • Working closely with other AIMCo departments and the Government of Alberta to understand their treasury requirements and to identify value-add opportunities
  • Providing accurate cash and liquidity forecasting to other groups
  • Collaborating with other departments on liquidity reporting, monitoring and risk metrics
  • Assist in the creation of reporting and query capabilities for bank account management
  • Provide support in the implementation and maintenance of the SWIFT networ
  • Provide backup to the Treasury Analyst in the areas of cash management, letters of credit, payments and opening and closing of bank accounts
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance is required
  • Understanding of Basel III (liquidity coverage ratio) and Dodd Frank
  • Experience with SimCorp Dimension is an asset
  • Experience with online banking portals is an asset
  • Knowledge of investment product types including derivative trading instruments
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products and a working understanding of database management such as Microsoft SQL is required
  • Ability to create reports using SpotFire and Microsoft Power Bi is an asset
