Position Summary

As a Senior Business Analyst in the Business Technology Delivery team, you will be part of a team that includes Project Managers, Business Analysts, Business System Analysts, Developers, and testing resources. These team members work together to execute on the prioritized projects and system enhancements requested by our stakeholders in the Front, Middle and Back Office teams.

You will work extensively in capturing and often helping define business requirements across multiple stakeholders, work through data challenges and process gaps, support testing plans and activities across multiple projects. More specifically, the Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Developing a deep knowledge of AIMCo’s strategy, operations, processes and systems to provide expert consultations for existing challenges and future enhancements
  • Identifying and translating high-level, conceptual user requirements into specifications of business requirements to guide development activities within our core systems
  • Identifying and documenting system, data, and process impacts of stakeholder requirements to inform solution designs
  • Performing root-cause analysis involving detail-oriented, analytical problem solving and research skills
  • Leading the documentation of existing business workflows, procedures, roles and responsibilities in conjunction with internal controls
  • Leading the testing efforts for functional testing; understanding functional scenarios and business situations to develop and execute test scenarios
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to other team members
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Canadian or US Pension industry or finance experience is desirable
  • Degree in finance, software engineering, MBA or equivalent is required
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • Knowledge of project management principles, guidelines and methodologies
  • Proficiency with Excel, VBA, SQL and Visio
  • Knowledge of SimCorp Dimension, Charles River, Eagle or Calypso is an asset
  • Initiative, drive and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
